At the end of the Day...

At the end of the day, there'll come a time,
When life will depart from this body of mine,
As it leaves, I'd like to think,
I won't be discarded, like water from a sink.
We've been together now, all these years,
I don't want to go, with eyes full of tears.
My worst fears, you can allay,
How for that, to God I pray.
Being left at the vets, in a polythene bag. Then in days hence collected, like a frozen rag.
When Uncle Ted died, he wasn't treated like that.
A man came in minutes, making arrangements as you sat.
Please take me home, in my bed,
There to rest my weary head.
The Pet Undertaker, is no more fuss,
So show you feel the same to each of us.
